Adobe Projects Profit That Tops Estimates on Marketing Software

Adobe Inc. gave a profit forecast for the current quarter that topped analysts’ estimates as more customers sign up for subscriptions to its digital marketing and customer analysis software.

Sales will be about $3.88 billion in the period ending in August, the San Jose, California-based company said Thursday in a statement. Analysts, on average, estimated $3.83 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Profit, excluding some items, will be about $3 a share. Analysts projected $2.90. Digital experience subscription sales will rise 25% and digital medial software revenue will increase 22%, the company said.

USF approves high-speed internet projects, broadband contracts

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications has approved the allocation of funds for the Universal Service Fund (USF) projects for high-speed internet services and contracts for next-generation broadband, ARY News reported on Monday.

The approval was given in the 77th meeting of the Board of Directors of Universal Service Fund (USF) chaired by IT secretary Dr Sohail Rajput today. The board approved the USF’s budget worth approximately Rs18 billion for the fiscal year 2021-22.

Four USF projects worth approximately Rs2.14 billion have been approved by the board to provide high-speed internet services to approximately 2.2 million people

European Commission drops plan to ban UK from science projects | European Commission

The European Commission has dropped plans for a blanket ban on UK involvement in EU research on space projects and supercomputers after a backlash from member states and leading scientists.

Thierry Breton, the former French finance minister who is now the EU internal market commissioner, had claimed the EU needed to keep control of intellectual property and that the UK’s involvement was an unacceptable security risk.
