CovaxSF, designed by 2 Foster City students, tracks vaccine availability in Bay | Local News



Fed up with the struggles so many Bay Area residents have faced while trying to get appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations, a couple of Foster City teens harnessed the power of technology to ease the process.

Sam Mendelson and Daniel Stoiber, seniors at d.tech high school in Redwood Shores, wrote a computer program which automatically scours the government’s vaccination appointment system and tweets notifications when dates are available.

By following the @CovaxSF account on Twitter, those wishing to get vaccinated can find when and where shots are available, how many appointments are open and what type of vaccine is being offered.

Punjab govt to fast-track growth of digital network, provide broadband access for all, Telecom News, ET Telecom

Chandigarh: Despite having a telecom infrastructure density almost double to that of the national average, the Punjab government has decided to increase it further to ensure fast track growth of digital communication network and provide affordable and universal access of broadband for all in the border state.

As per a statement, Punjab’s telecom infrastructure density ranks third in the country and is presently 0.7 per 1,000 population. The national average, meanwhile, stands at 0.42 per 1,000.

Lawrence’s website, computer systems down | News

LAWRENCE — The city’s website and computer systems are currently down, according to a statement made Saturday afternoon

“Early this morning we were made aware of an event that has resulted in technical difficulties and disruption to multiple city technology services,” Mayor Kendrys Vasquez said Saturday. “It appears that these disruptions are the result of malicious activity, the scope of which is not yet determined.”

The issues are only affecting the city’s municipal functions, like the website and email system. People can still contact the police and fire departments by calling 9-1-1, Vasquez said in his statement.
