Major DC health plan hacked, affecting 200,000: 7 details

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Community Health Plan in Washington, D.C., was the victim of a data breach affecting 200,665 people and likely carried out by foreign cybercriminals.

The health plan, formerly Trusted Health Plan, said in a data notice that every current enrollee, current employee and former employee has been affected by the incident.

T-Mobile debuts 100 Mbps home broadband; details 5G iPhone offers

T-Mobile US Inc. on April 7 unveiled its home internet service with 5G features for new and existing customers.

Speaking at a virtual company event, T-Mobile President and CEO Mike Sievert said the company’s 5G-powered fixed broadband offering is now available to over 30 million households nationwide, with roughly a third of those in small towns and underserved areas. The service costs $60 per month and provides average speeds of over 100 Mbps with no data caps, T-Mobile said.

XPrize details Elon Musk’s $100M prize to fight climate change

Last month, Tesla Motors and SpaceX CEO and richest person in the world Elon Musk announced he’d put a small percentage of his billions toward “a prize for best carbon capture technology.”  On Monday, XPrize announced the broad outline of the competition.
